Harjinder and Nav got married in a religious sikh wedding ceremony at Leamington Spa Gurdwara. The couple both get ready at their respective family homes with their loved ones. We were able to capture some family photographs while the couple were surrounded with their loved along with some portrait shots of both Bride and Groom in their homes.
It decided to rain in the morning, so once all the guests got to the Gurdwara, the milni (exchange of garlands) was held inside the foyer before Harjinder made his entrance into the wedding ceremony, later followed by our lovely bride Nav. The registry wedding took place first before the traditional sikh ceremony began. Once the 4 laavan were complete, guests had the opportunity to give a gift of money and congratulate the couple. The couple then had a few portraits shot in the ceremony room before entering the langhar hall (food hall) to have a sit down meal, followed by the goodbye ceremony, where the brides family wishes her farewell before she starts her new married journey.
The couple had their reception party at Stratford Manor, in Leamington Spa. The sun finally came out so we were able to take the couple around the grounds to have a lovely couples photoshoot. Harjinder wore a 3 piece suit while Nav chose a lovely blue lengha with pink details for her 2nd outfit. As guests arrived and got seated, the couple made their grand entrance into the venue and headed for the cake table. The venue was decorated with light tones and peach details. Harjinder and Nav had an entourage of dancing loved ones follow them in during their grand entrance. This was going to be a pretty crazy party! Once the couple cut their cake, they took a breather by heading to their top-table and tucking into their starters.[/spoiler] The newlyweds stepped onto the dance floor for their first dance to celebrate their new journey. The DJ invited everyone onto the dance floor to join the couple once the first dance had finished and the party well and truly began. To finish off the night we took the couple to have some final creative images taken. We had such a blast being part of your day Harjinder and Nav. Thank you for choosing us to capture your special moments.
Dilraj and Pav had a beautiful Sikh wedding ceremony at Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Willenhall. Pav got ready at her family home in Wolverhampton and was surrounded by her loved ones from near and far. She wore beautiful detailed Indian bridal outfit with a bright orange dupatta to add a bit of summery contrast. Once Pav was ready, we took formal photographs with her main family in front of her lovely home, before she set off on her way to the Gurdwara. Dilraj also got ready at his family home in Telford with his nearest and dearest. He wore a traditional Indian Groom’s outfit, a champagne gold sherwani.
The couple met in the darbar sahib to officially become husband and wife. Once their Sikh wedding ceremony had finished, we took the couple outside of the Gurdwara to capture some couples photos before they headed off to get changed. The couple chose the beautiful Ramada Park Hall Hotel to hold their reception party in. We had some of our team head to the venue to capture details of the decor and grounds before the guests started to arrive. Pav changed into a beautiful golden Indian gown for the reception while Dilraj put on a 3 piece suit. While guests mingled and waited for the couple, the renowned Gabhru Punjab De bhangra dancers. The couple had a quick photoshoot in they new outfits before they entered to cut their cake.
Pav’s sisters made an emotional yet funny speech along with Dilraj’s best friends and Dilraj himself. This lead onto their first dance, which we LOVED as it was choreographed and made for a beautiful capture. The dance floor opened and the celebrations began. These guys know how to party! After a long evening of celebrations, Dilraj surprised Pav with a vintage car for them both to leave in. Pav and Dilraj continued with the traditional Doli and Paniwaarna ceremonies before the night ended.
Pav and Dilraj, you make a lovely couple and we are so thankful you chose The Finishing Touch team to capture your special moments.
Sam and Kiran were hitched in a beautiful Sikh Ceremony on a sunny July day. They married at the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Willenhall, surrounded by their loved ones. In the morning, Kiran got ready at her family home in Wolverhampton, where the talented Hair and Makeup Artist Lavoi Deo glammed up our beautiful Bride for her wedding day. Kiran wore a traditional classic-red Indian Bridal outfit set with stunning Jimmy Choo wedding shoes. Once she was ready, she was chaperoned to the Gurdwara by Finishing Touch Cars.
Sam also got ready at his home in Sutton Coldfield with his main family surrounding him. He wore a striking gold and red Sherwani, which is a traditional Indian Groom’s wedding outfit. It was champagne gold in colour, with red accents and stunning embellishment. The couple looked like royalty together!
Once their religious Sikh wedding was complete, the couple changed parts of their outfits before heading to their Reception party, which was being held at The Tower Ballroom in Birmingham. We took Sam and Kiran for a quick outdoor photoshoot before they made their grand entrance to celebrate their marriage.
Traditionally, for the uninitiated, an Indian Bride leaves the party early to go home and await her new husband to pick her up and take her home. Before he is allowed to enter the Brides family home, he must barter at the door with the Brides sisters and female cousins. They tease him and he must offer them money in order to enter the family home. Sam was greeted by a “No entry without fee” barrier and an army of Kiran’s female family members. Once he was allowed in, the Doli ceremony began. This is where the bride emotionally says goodbye to her loved ones as she is taken from her home to start a new life as a married woman. The couple left to go to Sam’s family home, where they played a traditional game of “kangna” to welcome Kiran into their home.
The Finishing Touch team had great time capturing your Sikh wedding and reception party. We can’t thank you enough for choosing us to be part of your day. All the best Sam and Kiran! x
Where can we start with Ricky and Raj’s grand wedding day. We pulled out all the stops for this lovely couple, as they had one of the biggest weddings we have had the privilege of photographing and filming this year.
Ricky started off his wedding celebrations at home in Birmingham with 2 days of pre- wedding events, which included his Maiya, Mehndi and Jaggo Party. Raj did the same at her home in Nottingham. We had a photographer and a videographer go out to both their homes to cover both the pre-events. This gave us a chance to get to know them and their families in the run up to their wedding, which is always great because it allows our couples and families to feel comfortable around cameras and crew.
On the morning of the wedding, Ricky got ready at home. He wore a traditional sherwani fit for a sikh wedding and looked like royalty. Before heading off to Nottingham, Ricky had a traditional send off with a little trek down his road on a horse and a live indian “band baja” to lead him and his family. Raj also got ready at home and wore a stunning traditional Indian wedding outfit. She looked truly beautiful! Following some family photo’s, Raj awaited the arrival of Ricky and his entourage to their family home. The couple then had a traditional sikh wedding at their Gurdwara in Nottingham.
After the wedding ceremony, the newly married couple, along with their families and guests headed to Colwick Hall Hotel, for a grand wedding reception. We captured some photographs and video footage of the couple in their traditional Indian wedding outfits before they headed off to get changed for the wedding reception. Ricky and Raj looked amazing in their reception outfits that we couldn’t miss the opportunity to take them around the grounds of Colwick Hall Hotel for a Bride and Groom photoshoot.
The venue had a beautiful bright marquee set up in its scenic garden area. Diamond Weddings provided the reception decor, which included huge stunning centre pieces and a beautiful elegant glass-like top table. Just amazing! Shivam Events provided the canapés and 3 course meal and the couple had a surprise live act PBN who came to perform a few songs once the dance floor had opened.
Ricky and Raj, it was a pleasure being part of your pre-wedding events and your wedding day. We can’t thank you enough for choosing The Finishing Touch to not only become part of your family for a few days but also to capture your grand Sikh wedding.
Jag got ready at home in Leamington Spa, surrounded by her loved ones and wore a stunning traditional Indian bridal lengha in a classic red colour. Arron also got ready at his home, in Wolverhampton, where we were able to capture some atmospheric portraits of him before he set off to the Gurdwara. He wore a red and gold sherwani from Unique in Wolverhampton. With all the morning traditions of a punjabi wedding complete, Arron got into his wedding car while friends and family danced on the streets in celebration. We could tell this was going to be a super joyous occasion!
After the wedding ceremony the couple had some portraits captured while guests mingled and found their seats in the lovely marquee. Arron went and changed for the Reception party and the lovely newly weds made their grand entrance. They headed onto the dance floor where there cake was waiting to be cut. The couple went on to have their first dance after they cut their cake and the dance floor truly did open for guests. It got busy very quickly, these folks know how to party for sure!
While guests sat down for their main course we took Arron and Jag out around the grounds of Dunchurch Park to have more couple portraits done. in front of the camera and We managed to take the couple all the way to the lake to get a a variation of different shots before they headed back onto the dance floor to continue with their party.
Jag left the party early to go back home and await her new husband to arrive, pay her girls to enter her family home and then collect her to take her to her new married journey with him. Once the Doli ceremony finished, the team headed to Arron’s home in Wolverhampton to capture the final parts of the day. Again, friends and family danced in the streets outside of Arron’s home to start the “paaniwarna ceremony”. Arron and Jag entered the house and played post wedding games to welcome Jag into their family. The night ended on a happy high and we felt very welcomed into both families for the wedding weekend.
We truly hope you had a fantastic day and can’t thank you enough for choosing us to capture your special moments. All the best from the Finishing Touch Team.
