Location Ideas for your Sikh Wedding Explore Popular Gurdwaras in the Midlands Area

gurdwara-wedding-photographyAt The Finishing Touch, we have been very fortunate to document over 25 different Gurdwara weddings in the Midlands area over the past 8 years. As experts in capturing the intricate details of these sacred and joyous celebrations, we take great pride in our ability to showcase the beauty of each unique wedding.

While some Gurdwaras have been purpose-built with similar layout structures inside and ornate canopies over the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, others have been repurposed from older buildings, giving their interiors a distinct character and charm. Our team of experienced photographers and videographers knows how to capture the unique features of each Gurdwara, from the intricate patterns on the walls to the beautifully designed windows and doors.

Top 3 FAQS

Ideally we prefer the pre wedding photoshoot . to take place within a 30 miles radius of Birmingham City centre*.

Anywhere with nice, open spaces such as a park or local beauty spot are fine.

If you would like to go somewhere a little more grand, we can accommodate this as long as you obtain the necessary permission from the venue you would like to use.

Some make fairly hefty charges for the privilege of using their grounds, so please be aware of this as well!

We have plenty of suggestions if you need help in finding the perfect spot.

* If you would like your pre wedding shoot outside the 30 mile radius, please contact Pam or Ian to determine the extra charge for the fuel and additional journey time.

To be honest, anything that you feel comfortable in, but its probably best to think about the location you are going to and what would compliment the background.

Some couples like to hedge their bets and have 2 outfits, one casual and one formal, but this isn’t compulsory.

Yes, we can and, to be honest, it’s another great opportunity to meet the videographer for the wedding day and learn how to appear relaxed on camera.

As visual movement lends it self to film – we encourage walking and taking and may be a few dance moves!

Top 5 Reasons why clients love to have a Pre-Wedding Photoshoot.

It’s a great opportunity to meet your Lead photographer, Maisie or Sinead and build a positive relationship before your wedding day.
You will learn quite quickly that we don’t do overly rigid serious poses (unless of course, that’s your thing!) but we try to encourage smiles and laughter and hopefully some romance between the 2 of you.

Trust me you will love it, any doubts you may have had before the photo shoot will be quickly forgotten, and you will come up with your own poses by the end of the shoot.

Some clients often feel awkward or anxious about having their photos taken, so this is a perfect opportunity to calm those fears and perhaps discover some angles or poses you feel more comfortable doing.

Once you have seen the photos, you will have a better idea as to which poses you like and which reflects your personality so you can re-create them on your wedding day, and look like professional models!

Honestly, it will be.

You will get to spend some quality with your partner, share some memories with the photographer, discover something new about each other and have a laugh and giggle about it.

You will come away with a smile on your face and say: ‘We should do this more often!’

So, you’ve been to your friends or relative wedding and were wowed by their DJ’s video Wall -and now know its something you want for your wedding reception- if you can stretch that fragile budget!

‘But, have we got any decent photos of the two that will  fill that big panoramic screen’

Need I say more!

So, to recap you’ve met the photographer, you’ve had a great experience, you’ve learned a few new poses and discovered your best side!

Wouldn’t it be nice to have some of them printed as a lasting heirloom?

Well, we think so too, which is why we encourage you to pick 15 of your favourite photos and we then get them professionally printed into a guest book which you can take to the wedding reception party for your guests and family to sign.

Your friends will be jealous!
